Feeding: Rosy Barbs are omnivores. Rosy Barbs will eat anything they can get their mouths around, so be careful not to overfeed. They will eat any Algae or Bugs in the pond, as well as any dry or frozen fish foods.
Reproduction: The females generally remain smaller and plumper then the males and lack the brighter red colour, instead are more yellow, olive or gold. The males are slimmer and can get quite a bright red colour. Like most fish allow for plenty of aquatic plants in the pond, they allow for a place for the eggs to hide otherwise they will be eaten by the parents.
Before introducing fish into a pond make sure you have put a Water Conditioner/Chlorine Neutraliser into your new pond before introducing fish. We suggest to not overstock a new pond with fish too soon, the water needs time to balance and age. If you have just filled the pond, you will need to wait at least a week before introducing fish!!
Keep and eye on new fish for the first hour or so after they have been released into the pond to make sure they are settling in well.
