string(638) "Aquaponics is where fish and plants are grown in a combined system. The system uses nutrient rich water provided by the fish and circulates it through to a grow bed to feed the plants.
Aquaponics works with the aid of the good bacteria in your ponds. Fish produce waste and ammonia in the pond, which is toxic to them. The bacteria converts the ammonia into nitrite and then into nitrate, which plants use as a growing nutrient. This nutrient rich water is pumped to a grow bed for the plants, which then filter and clean the water for the fish. So with aquaponics you can grow fish and plants to eat."

string(894) "Filters are a great way to help keep your pond clean. There is a selection of pre-filters to give you more surface area to stop your pump from clogging up so often and a range of external filters, which is the best option for low maintenance. They work best paired with a Filtration / Waterfall Pump, which can take bigger particles through the impeller and straight through to the filter. There are two types, Gravity and Pressure. The Pressure filters are ideal for pushing water and can be hidden away easier then a gravity feed filter, that needs to be above the pond to feed back in. The filters can come with or without a UV light, which is the fool proof way of getting rid of that murky or pea-soupy green water that may form in ponds.
NOTE: The External Filters (Gravity, Pressurized, Clarifiers) DO NOT come with a Pump. Pumps are sold separately."

Keep and eye on new fish for the first hour or so after they have been released into the pond to make sure they are settling in well. If you have Koi, check on them regularly over the next twenty four hours as they can jump out of the pond while they are settling in."
