Perlite is a naturally occurring silicous rock. Perlite is a great product to mix in with soil as it improves aeration (which can result in faster growth), prevents nutrient build-up and it modifies the soil substrate by keeping it loose and well drained. It is a great addition to potting mix for succulents. You can add up to 10-50% of perlite to the total volume of your potting mix. Perlite is an ideal growing media for hydroponic systems.

Perlite is not suitable for ponds or aquaponics as it will float and can be harmful to fish if swallowed!

HY-GEN PERLITE is a natural expanded aggregate, which can be used to improve the soil profile for potted plants. It can be combined with coco to increase drainage. It can also be used as a medium for Aquaponics, Hydroponics and Gardening. It can also be used for decorating indoor and outdoor pots and gardens.

HY-GEN PERLITE is sourced from high quality material, which is low in heavy metals and maintains a strong structure making it less likely to crush under pressure when used. The particle size and strength ensures that it meets the highest standards for Horticulture. It is prepared and processed under strict guidelines to meet high standards and quality, strength and moisture holding capability.

HY-GEN PERLITE is pH stable and therefore does not affect or change the pH conditions around the root zone. This allows the nutrients to do the job they were intended to do. It doesn’t contain nuisance chemicals such as sodium which could otherwise adversely affect plant health.
