INCREASES CARBONATE HARDNESS
CLICK HERE TO READ OUR ARTICLE ON CARBONATE HARDNESS
Hardness Plus (sodium bicarbonate) is used in ponds to safely raise carbonate hardness (KH), stabilise pH levels, and improve water quality. It must be dosed carefully to avoid sudden shifts that can stress aquatic life.
Hardness Plus helps to increase carbonate hardness (KH) and help maintain a stable pH environment. KH is a critical buffer that prevents dangerous pH swings, which can harm fish, plants, and beneficial bacteria. By boosting KH, Hardness Plus supports a healthier, more resilient aquatic ecosystem.
Dosage: Use 30g (25ml) per 1,000 litres of pond water to increase carbonate hardness by one degree. Adjust by one degree at a time over a few days, test regularly to reach an ideal of seven to ten degrees carbonate hardness.
TO CALCULATE APPROXIMATE POND CAPACITY:
Length (m) x Width (m) x Average Depth. (measurements in metres x 1000 for litres). Check out our Help Centre for More information for Round or Shaped Ponds.
